Every emotion we have is okay, none are either positive or negative, it is how we respond or express these emotions make them positive or negative. Always choose your responses carefully.
Being able to think before we react is something that helps with this. We can learn to stop ourselves from automatic responses by practising something like mindfulness which allows us to step back and judge a situation before we respond.
