Not everything that happens is about you. People around you have their own issues, their own lives. They say things or do things which we can take personally. But if you take a step back from a quick response you can see it isn’t about you at all. It’s really about the other person. It takes a great deal of awareness to be able to take that step back and not react. We can cultivate this by using meditation everyday. It doesn’t have to be long either. A 10 minute meditation will help you to become more aware of yourself and your surroundings. So for today find a meditation app, take up some yoga or tai-chi and begin to become more aware of yourself.
