We’ve probably all heard of the term spiralling down. People with depression will use this term to describe how they feel, stress will do it too. We can all feel like that in our everyday lives. Things might feel out of our control and we begin to spiral down. But have you ever thought of how you can spiral up instead instead? Bring your focus back to the moment by taking a few deep breaths. Make sure to exhale out for longer than you inhale on each breath. This will help you recenter and balance yourself again. Remind yourself of your gratitude list or start making one in your head. Then remember that this moment will pass, you’ll survive this as you have before.
