Why do we let others take away our happiness? They enter our lives through family or as so-called friends and create drama, use us, talk about nothing but negative things or people and generally leave after we feel miserable and they feel good. Why do we put up with this?
Only you can answer this for yourself. Sometimes we don't even realise we have accepted this negativity into our lives or we have grown up around this. It isn't until we examine how we feel after someone leaves that we can see how they affect us.
So for today ask yourself: How do I feel after (pick someone you know, put their name here) I have been with them? Do I feel great and full of positive thoughts? Had a good laugh may be, felt encouraged and positive about myself? This doesn't have to be all the time but in general. Or do I feel constantly feel miserable or down after being around them? If it's the latter its time you let these so-called friends go or cut back on speaking to this family member at the very least. Don't feel guilty, these types of people are negative vampires and always have to have someone to fulfill this role for them in order to feel good about themselves. They will find someone to fill your role in their lives very quickly.
