Taking ownership and responsibility for our emotions allows us to be in control. We can examine if that feeling is genuine? By that I mean: Does it relate to what is really happening or about the past? Is the feeling yours or someone else’s? When we can look at our thoughts we can see how they have triggered our emotions in that moment. So for today try to catch those thoughts that bring up strong emotions in you. You can do this by taking the time to sit quietly and reflect on your day. What strong emotions came up for you? What do you remember about what happened? What thoughts were going through your head? Journalling your answers to these questions will help you to become more aware of your thought patterns.
