You create your circumstance they don't create you, this may be hard to take on board but if you think about it you come to realise that although you may not control events you can control your response to them. In that way, you get to control your circumstances. If we didn't believe in ourselves, in our abilities to create goals and achieve them we would also view this quote as negative also. But we know we can create goals and achieve them, we know we can believe in ourselves and know we will succeed in life.
