Forgive is hard. For most people when they think of forgiveness they assume they need the other person to admit fault and seek forgiveness. This is a misconception.
Forgiveness only requires you and you alone. Bringing yourself to the level of acceptance for everything that has happened to you, also brings with it the ability to find it within ourselves the power to forgive.
But first, we must forgive ourselves. Let go of any guilt or shame we might be feeling also, for they will only hold you back. After all, what some else did is not your fault, so why do you feel ashamed or guilty about it? You have nothing to feel ashamed or guilty of.
